Beware of the latest move by liberals to outlaw your freedom to drive. Democrats, once again proving that they are in bed with radical anti-American left wing kooks, are seeking to reduce the national speed limit to 55. If you recall, this was an abysmal failure and did more than anything since prohibition to turn Americans into criminals. Once again, we see the results of the young, the dumb and the uninformed having the right to vote. They give us Nancy Pelosi and her failed liberal idealism and now we are faced with a government seeking to steal more of our income and our rights.
The Case For Speed
Since the repeal of the national 55 mph speed limit traffic fatalities have declined. Again, this is another inconvenient fact that gets in the way of liberal science fiction. According to the NHTSA the fatality rate has declined from 1.69 to 1.37 per 100 million vehicle miles traveled. So either liberals want to see more people die or they are just plain stupid. I guess you can make your own mind up on that one.
Common Sense
In the map above you will see a very strong correlation between states where common sense prevails and a speed limit that makes sense. With the exception of Washington and California, every single state that we associate with emasculation also has an artificially low speed limit designed to give the government more power to steal money from drivers who do nothing more than try to reach point A to point B in a reasonable time.
Fight Back Now
This issue has been conspicuously absent from the mainstream media because they know it will hurt liberal politicians. It's time for Real Americans to stand up and point out this move to further emasculate our society. They can claim that this move of fascism will reduce dependence on oil which is a lie. By reducing the speed we may see a 2% reduction in oil which is a fraction of what we would see if we were to dril here and drill now. The answer is to exploit our oil sources and allow traffic to flow on interstates unimpeded without fear of government retribution for committing acts that bring no harm to others. The reality is that slow drivers are the cause of most accidents and virtually all road rage. If you want to drive 55, do us all a favor and move to a nation where the politics are more to your liking such as Iran or Venezuela.
